M25 Motorway Breakdown Safety Guidelines
If you break down on the M25, please follow this sequence:
- Pull as far left as possible — ideally onto the hard shoulder or into an Emergency Refuge Area (ERA).
- Switch on your hazard warning lights immediately.
- Exit via the passenger door, away from traffic, and stand behind the crash barrier.
- Do not attempt repairs on the hard shoulder — this is extremely dangerous.
- Call 07365 801219 and quote your nearest marker post (small blue signs every 100 metres).
- For smart motorway sections (J23–J27), use the nearest SOS phone if the lane is closed or live traffic is passing.

M25 Recovery — FAQs
Which M25 junctions do you cover from High Wycombe?
We provide priority 24/7 recovery on the western section of the M25 — Junction 15 (M4 interchange), Junction 16 (M40 interchange), Junction 17 (Maple Cross) and Junction 18 (Rickmansworth). Other M25 junctions can be covered on request via partner networks.
How quickly can you reach M25 Junction 16 or J15?
Typical response to M25 J15 (M4) and J16 (M40) is 30–60 minutes via the M40 from High Wycombe, but it can take longer at peak times, in poor weather, or if the M25 itself is congested. We always give you an honest ETA when you call.
What should I do if I break down on the M25 hard shoulder?
Pull as far left as possible, switch on hazard lights, exit via the passenger side, stand behind the crash barrier, and call 07365 801219. Quote your nearest marker post — every 100 metres along the M25.
Do you recover electric vehicles on the M25?
Yes. We use flatbed transport with neutral/skid handling that follows manufacturer EV recovery guidance for safe transport from any M25 junction.
Do you cover the Heathrow spur and airport terminals?
Yes. Recovery from the M4 J4B Heathrow spur and the terminals is available on request. Call 07365 801219 to discuss the specific location and vehicle type.
